Lovely fragrant purple racemes
‘Okayama’ is a twining climber with the potential to grow to an ultimate height of 12m. A vigorous grower it is the best type of wisteria for growing up walls as it will quickly and easily cover a large space. Highly versatile it is also great for training over a fence or pergola. Long green leaves appear at first followed by deep violet buds which open up to reveal hanging sprays of gorgeous, pea-like, light-purple flowers. This plant is happiest when placed in a sheltered position and planted in moist but well-drained soil in either the full sun or partial shade.
