Each mauve petal will encircle a small stamen, and towards their centre is a subtle stripe of deeper purple, which gives the illusion of a satin-like sheen. Some of the early flowers will even be semi-double, and as such, their generous rosette of purple petals will make a wonderfully romantic cut flower.
